Nathan began his research career in Honolulu working as a graduate assistant on a small ruminant health study with the aim of identifying disease hotspots in livestock populations. Nathan moved to Boston in 2020 to begin work as a research assistant in the Hui lab at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Here the lab's research focused on understanding mammalian energy imbalances in cachexia and obesity rodent models. Before moving to Lytica, he also served as the lab manager for the Hui lab. Outside of science, Nathan is an avid rower and enjoys both competing himself and coaching a local high school program in the Boston area. Nathan graduated from the University of Virginia in 2017 with B.A.s in Biology and Philosophy. Following this, he earned his M.S. in Animal Science at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa in 2019.
